I offer 'Drawing with Nature' workshops for communities, schools, galleries, organisations, companies and groups. Sessions can be adapted for different ages, spaces and interests.
Interested in bringing 'Drawing with Nature' to your group?
'Drawing with Nature' is a hands-on creative workshop where participants explore drawing and painting with materials gathered from nature — leaves, bark, soil, coffee grounds, vegetable peels and other organic materials. The process is open-ended: there are no rules about what you should make, just a few friendly prompts, and no previous artistic experience is needed. Instead, the workshop encourages curiosity, experimentation and the freedom to discover what the materials can do.
The project grew from my research into natural pigments, which began during a 2025 residency in the Forest of Dean. While observing and drawing ancient sweet chestnut trees in the forest, I began collecting fallen leaves and bark and transforming them into pigments. This led to a series of drawings and large-scale monochrome tree murals. Since then, 'Drawing with Nature' has evolved through workshops with MA students at Goldsmiths, University of London (winter 2026), at the Museum of London (spring 2026), and with Cook for Good charity in Islington (summer-autumn 2026). Each workshop brings new materials, ideas and possibilities.
I approach the workshops as a facilitator rather than a teacher, sharing my academic knowledge and experience in drawing and painting while allowing participants to lead their own creative process. Everyone brings something different, and we learn from each other. Slowing down, observing, experimenting and discovering what we can create from the world around us, generating a space for creativity, connection and wellbeing.
